Filtering Molten Metal

The benefits of filtering the impurities (slag and dross) out of molten metal during the casting process are relatively well known, easy to quantify, and are long practiced by the industry.  Filtration products for high temperature metals include ceramic foam, ceramic honeycomb, Silica mesh, and metal screens.  While each of these filter materials has a proven ability to remove impurities (in varying degrees) from cast metal, only one provides additional significant benefits that can be of equal or greater value in terms of cost reduction...Silica mesh.  If only the highest quality material will do, just click below:

De-Gating and Riser Removal

The break-up of runner systems during the shakeout phase of casting production is characteristically expensive in terms of time and labor, not to mention the dangers posed to personnel.  Riser-removal from large castings is a similarly intensive effort and can often be even more dangerous to production personnel when they use such methods as a hydraulic ram to forcibly “smash” the riser off the casting.  Comanche offers the following application specific products to meet your unique foundry & metalcasting needs:
